Holiday Home Decorating for Christmas

This will be the second holiday we’ve shared in our home. I’m slowly adding new holiday decorations each season and maybe by year five, I’ll have enough to fill up our home.

I feel like I gravitate towards traditional colors and prints, sticking with a slight vintage style. To me it feels cozier. Like a wintery lodge on a snow capped mountain, with wood burning in the fireplace, snuggled up with fuzzy blankets sipping hot cocoa and watching holiday movies.

We have a fairly large property, so it takes a lot to make it look cozy especially during the holidays. Also, I still haven’t fully furnished a few spaces, so that doesn’t help with holiday decorating. BUT, I’ve found that the littlest touches can warm up your place and make it feel festive.

I’ve chosen a few spots around our home to liven it up so that we can “jingle all the way” until the new year and new decade. Wow a NEW DECADE!

I always use Pinterest to create inspiration boards to help me plan out my styling. I have eclectic tastes, it can be a mashup sometimes. I dream of being that person who decorates in the White Christmas theme. Everything white, gold and silver BUT I’m not.

I tend to lean towards red, green, black/white checks, pine and berry garland and a mix of ornaments on the tree. If you haven’t finished decorating, or want ideas for next year, maybe these style tips will spark inspiration.

Savvy Tip: Pin these photos to your holiday board.

Many items can be found at HomeGoods, Pier 1, World Market, Michael’s and eBay (vintage items).
