Pregnancy Journey: Third Trimester

My baby bump is getting bigger and bigger each day! I’m continuing to eat as healthy as possible. Sometimes I crave junk food and sweets which I allow myself to have here and there.

I can’t believe we are in the home stretch of my pregnancy. Nothing prepared me for being pregnant, let alone the difference in stage of it. Here we are in my third trimester!

I am officially 30 weeks! It’s so crazy how fast time is flying. It’s been a pretty smooth pregnancy overall. I’m grateful for this. I still haven’t experienced any morning sickness which is a huge plus. The past couple weeks since I started my 3rd trimester I’ve been feeling a little more nauseous but I think its because I wait too long to eat a snack or a meal.

Doctor’s Visits

These appointments are so quick. My doctor measures our baby girl’s height and weight. She also listens to her heartbeat and then I’m good to go. These visits are now every two weeks as opposed to every four weeks.

My last doctor’s visit we did my glucose screening test which is a normal test done during pregnancy. This checks your blood glucose (sugar) level. Since my test checked out fine, luckily I won’t have to go in for another one.

My next ultrasound appointment is next week around 31 weeks and I can’t wait to see how our baby is growing!

3D/5D Ultra-Sound

We wanted to see how our baby girl looks so we researched places that do 3D, 4D and 5D ultrasounds. We found one five minutes from where we live, so convenient. The place is Stork Vision, if live in Dallas I suggest this ultrasound spot.

Our little girl was camera shy. She had her face covered and didn’t want us to see her. Our ultrasound tech suggested we take a break and go for a walk. This helped and we were able to get a few more photos.

This package includes 20-25 min session, 2 (4X6) photos, 1 (8X10) collage, 1 (4×6) mini photo collage, 5 ultrasound prints (25 total), video clips of our session, 30+ photos in an online gallery, standard size stuffed animal with your baby’s heartbeat, and gender determination.

What a great experience and I highly recommend doing this. The cost is pretty affordable.

Maternity Clothing

I’ve been growing out of my clothes mainly my jeans. I still fit in a few of my Lululemon leggings which is great since they are so comfy. I found some cute fashionable shops for pregnancy clothes thank goodness!

BumpSuit they have the cutest pregnancy clothes! There are so many style options here from leggings to bodysuits and dresses and jumpsuits. The best part is everything is super soft and comfortable. I’m absolutely in love with the pieces I bought and already want to buy more.

For my baby shower I found another cute shop online Pink Blush. I love that this online retailer sells maternity dresses for any occasion, so us pregnant girls can still look stylish with a baby bump.

I also found some pretty maternity dresses from Pretty Lavish. They’re dresses are very chic and elegant.

Our Baby Shower

We decided to have TWO coed baby showers because we wanted both of our families part of our celebration. For both baby showers we flew to California since most of our family and friends live there.

My mom threw a shower for us at her house with most of my family and my boyfriend’s immediate family. The next day we flew out to Santa Clarita were my boyfriend’s mom, sister, and sister-in-law planned our second shower with most of his family and friends.

Baby Registry Welcome Boxes

There are some really savvy options for baby shower registries, who would’ve known? I created multiple registries to experience all the benefits they have to offer.

For example, some registries send a Welcome Box that allows you to try multiple products before committing to buying certain products. There are a few restrictions to receiving a ‘free’ Welcome box per each registry (like shipping costs) so read the fine print.

I ended up creating baby shower registries on Amazon, Buybuy Baby, Target, Walmart, Crate Kids and Pottery Barn Kids. Dyper and Noobie are two other box style registries I think are great as well.

Walmart Baby Registry: The Welcome box is free and shipping is included. It comes with a sample of 3 Huggies diapers, Liquid IV hydration, a small travel size Aveeno shampoo, baby wipes and a lot of different coupons.

buybuyBABY Registry: This box comes with two baby bottles, a little travel shampoo, pacifier, a sample of baby diapers, stretch mark lotion and oil samples, a breast mask for hydration, a sample of wipes and a lot of different coupons.

Although this Welcome box isn’t free, you can find coupons to receive a discount when you go in-store to pick-up this box of goodies.

Babylist Registry: I received most of my gifts from this registry. I love Babylist since its pretty universal. In order to get your ‘free’ Welcome box, someone needs to purchase an item on your registry for a minimum of $10 dollars then you qualify for this box. There is an additional $10 shipping fee but I think it’s worth paying.

This Welcome box comes with a Philips baby bottle, pacifier, stretch mark lotion, vitamin D drops, small bottle of body lotion, shampoo, baby wipes, diapers, two onesies, a beanie, a pair of mittens and a lot of different coupons.

Target Registry: Their Welcome box (technically a bag) is completely free. All you do is create your registry and then go pick up your Welcome ‘bag’ at Target. Included in this bag are 3 diapers, stretch mark lotion, baby wipes and a lot of different coupons.

Amazon Registry: I have yet to receive my Welcome box from my Amazon registry but probably will get it soon. In order to qualify for their ‘free’ box, someone has to spend/buy a minimum of $10 through your registry.

Compared to all the other Welcome boxes, this one costs $35 dollars as opposed to free. I’m not sure if the cost is worth the box. I’m sure I’ll find out soon enough.

Pottery Barn Registry: There isn’t a Welcome box with PB BUT there is a discount after you create your registry. When you’re 60 days away from your due date you’ll receive a 20% registry discount. We’re eyeing a nursery chair and can’t wait to use this discount towards our dream chair.

I hope you find my experience helpful if you are just starting your pregnancy journey or midway.
