My Pregnancy Journey Continues

Honestly, the first trimester was so easy. I have any morning sickness or nausea. I’ve been very blessed in this department. To read more about my first trimester, CLICK HERE.

I’m currently in my second trimester. Luckily still grateful for not having any nausea or morning sickness. The worst symptoms I’ve experienced so far are headaches that lasted for about a week in the mornings when I woke up. I also had some back pain and abdominal pains above my rib area.

Doctor Visits

Usually, the past few doctor visits have been pretty easy and done before you know it. The doctor listens to the baby’s heartbeat and answers any questions we have. Overall it’s a very quick and easy check-up. We typically schedule these appointments every four weeks.

Gender reveal

Finding out the baby’s gender was the best! I was so eager to find out. We have family everywhere so the most ideal way to do it was via Zoom. My mom was the first one to know the gender of our baby since she coordinated our reveal balloons and box with the gender in it.

My mom ordered balloons from Party City, both blue and pink along with a black one that read “boy or girl?” The big balloon was the one we popped which had pink confetti explode out of it.

She also got another box that had little lemon cakes in it, and once you open the box there were paper pink butterflies that flew out. It was the cutest thing ever.

We popped the balloon and opened the box at the same time on Zoom with the whole family. It was so much fun even though we couldn’t all be together in person.

Yes we are having a girl! We decided to find out around 12 weeks since we did a blood test that tells you the baby’s gender.

20 Weeks UltraSound

Getting to see our baby girl on the screen was so cool. Our doctor checked her spine, brain, feet, legs, arms, hands, eyes, and pretty much everybody part to make sure everything was developing right.

She was moving around a lot, our doctor showed us how she was just bouncing around in my tummy. She was kicking up a storm! Her gender was also confirmed again. Had to double check, you never know.

I was a bit shocked to find out that our next ultrasound is at 31 weeks. Quite a bit of time in between this one.

Creating a baby registry

The process of creating a baby registry has been so fun! A few of my friends are pregnant or have recently had babies, so they referred me to their registries to get an idea.

I have also done some research online on essential items we need. We decided to use Babylist since it’s pretty user-friendly. It also lets you add items from multiple platforms and it gives the best prices which is a huge plus.

Planning a babyshower

We decided to plan our shower in California at my mom’s house since most of our family lives in Cali.

For our invites we created a digital one with Greenvelope which was super easy. Gotta love technology! The best part is they have so many ideas and templates, all you do is insert what you want it to say and you’re done!

Body changing

I am honestly in that in-between stage where my clothes are starting to get smaller and not fit. My jeans are too tight which stinks. I’m still not big enough to wear maternity clothes and most of clothes are snug. This in-between stage is a bit frustrating because of this.

My journey book

We decided to create a book with polaroid photos of each week. We started at 9 weeks and we’re on week 18. We love the journey of seeing the stage of our life. I love created this photo bump album so we can share it with our family and little girl when she gets older. This is such a great idea for memories.

Can’t wait to keep updating you on this wonderful journey!
