Mascara is probably the number one thing MOST women buy on the regular. Why is it that we’re always on the hunt for the BEST mascara? Do we ever really settle up on one or two that does the trick for giving us long. lush, fluttery lashes?

New Favorite
It Cosmetics Hello Lashes + truly give volume and length. Most other mascaras advertise this and fail to follow through, but this one actually works. It’s smudge proof and does not leak onto my oily skin, even after a long day of work. Bonus: it washes clean off with soap and water.
Best Waterproof Mascara
Loréal Voluminous Lash Paradise. Yes I just said that. It’s an affordable drugstore brand and one that you want to wear on a vacation with a pool or to an occasion where you might cry but still want to look pretty.
Best Mascara for Length
Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash will get you lots of length, for days. It also curls your eyelashes. It’s a good one to finish on top of another mascara if you are a layer type. I love layering mascaras.
If you want to skip the layering, I suggest trying IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes+.
Best Mascara for Volume
Too Faced Better Than Sex is a good go-to for major volume. It’s a classic reliable mascara. Also smudge proof (I know because I have oily skin), gives volume and will give you a falsie look with a couple coats.
Again, don’t want to make this article only about the IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes + but it’s truly an all in one volume and lengthening. I can’t praise this mascara enough! As a longtime makeup artist and many years of experimenting with so many different mascaras, I can say, “I have found THE one.”
