I recently moved into a new apartment in Dallas and hadn’t really organized our space after unpacking. My pantry cabinet kept bugging me with all the loose things cluttering up each shelf. One weekend I got the organizing bug and decided to go storage bin crazy. It was time to change the way my space looked. I was craving a fresh start.
Having storage bins will keep my space cleaner and less cluttered. Most importantly, I wanted to make sure everything is easily accessible. No more wasting time searching for something. I want things where I can see them.
My first project: The Pantry
I bought open storage bins for most items. I also got a few oversized bins with covers for items I don’t use often. My favorites are the clear containers for all my dry ingredients. What I’m most proud of is that I actually labeled each bin.
Hopefully next time I shop to stock up, the labels will help make it easier to refill the designated storage bins (hint hint to my boyfriend).
This has been such a fun project, I decided to organize a few other spots in our place with other types of storage bins. Here are a few favorites I used for organizing.
VARIERA
I always hated looking and going into my pantry and not being able to find anything. This drove me crazy to see everything cluttered together. I love these white bins from IKEA because they are small and easily fit in most spaces. Having handles on each side also makes it easy to pull out. Another plus is that they are $5.00 each. You can use them for anything. I used them for my spices, cans, snacks, chips, bread, oils, sauces, etc.
OXO Good Grips 10-Piece POP Container Set
The OXO containers are my favorite. They are so easy to use and fit perfectly in my space. I love these because you can see what ingredients are in each one and they’re stackable.
Twisted Paper Rope Large Tapered Basket Gray
Before getting this basket my linen closet was a mess. It was cluttered which made my space look a lot smaller. Having these bins makes the area look more spacious. I can also fit more things in here. There are different sizes to choose from which makes organizing my towels, toilet paper, laundry soaps and bathroom essentials a lot easier. And the price is just right, really affordable.
SNIDAD
I never knew where to keep my pillows and blankets. This IKEA basket helped me keep my living room area clean. It’s nice to have extra pillows but sometimes having too many pillows on the couch looks cluttered. It’s small enough to fit next to my sofas and big enough for a few blankets and pillows.
