DAY 63: Shop My Closet Girly Street Chic

Mood: Amused

Weather: Still really warm and humid, cooling down at night

Outfit Purpose: Evening Out

Style Savvy: I love juxtaposing hard and soft elements when pairing pieces especially for a night out. I took this soft fringy skirt from H&M (worn on Day 11 here) paired it with a white ribbed tank, Kenzie moto jacket (worn on Day 5 here), Mango ankle strap heels, sequin clutch bag and this AMAZING beaded and crystal layered Safia Day necklace. Safia has a vast collection ranging from simple every day sterling silver and faceted semi precious stones to extravagant intricate multi layered strands as well as a beautiful diamond collection. I’m OBSESSED with her pieces!

What’s Going On With Me: It surely didn’t feel like Saturday. I still had to catch up on work stuff. I did receive a few sweet and honest text messages from my recent visitor that made me smile, lightening up my mood. So, I’ve been hearing several stories through the grapevine about my separation/divorce from my now ex-husband. It goes one of two ways:  a) it was amicable or b) that I left him. I find it amusing how the story has changed over these four months. As I recall and have an email that recalls it, I didn’t want to get divorced and asked him several times if he wanted to try marriage counseling first before making any decisions. He was firm with his answer of “no” followed by a gazillion reasons why we aren’t right for each other. It really doesn’t matter at this point how the story has evolved because I’m moving on with my life. I just find it tragically amusing.

Thoughts: When people feel the need to lie or share partial truths, it’s on them at the end of the day. When I use to partake in this unfavorable behavior, I was either trying to make myself look good, hide/distance myself from others or get sympathy by playing the victim. Thank goodness I don’t enjoy living uncomfortably anymore, so I don’t do this. Nuff said.
