DAY 12: Shop My Closet 365 Days Challenge

Mood: Uneasy

Weather: Warm, windy

Outfit Purpose: Client meetings

Style Savvy: I’ve been dying to wear this embroidered skirt from White House | Black Market and today was the day to pull a look together with this flouncy spirited skirt. I paired my fave floral H&M top along with my Prabal Gurung for Target ankle strap heels and Kate Spade clutch bag. I kept my arm swag minimal with my vintage Cartier jeweled bangle, crystal encrusted CC Skye spiked bracelet and my classic Timex watch. The necklace was also a vintage find from a resale shop in Encinitas. I find that vintage jewelry seems to go with any outfit and funky fun clutch bags are always a conversational piece.

Personal Style: Stylist at your service.

What’s Going On With Me: Today I woke up feeling fine and met a newish girlfriend for lunch, then some work stuff after. For some reason in the middle to late afternoon I started feeling uneasy and restless. I had a gazillion thoughts racing through my head and I just wanted to shut it down. I actually felt like I wanted to buy something online, like a t-shirt, nothing major. Of course I didn’t! Not going to fall off my fashion fast. I got my final divorce papers in the mail today and I had to read over, sign and mail off. I believe that has something to do with my discomfort.

Later in the evening before the sun went down, my mom, her dog Goldie and I went for a walk along Carlsbad beach. I spotted this super cute black Pomeranian that was shaved down to look like a teddy bear. OMG! I wanted to doggie nap him. I was talking to the owner of the dog, asking questions, etc. etc. and noticed that this guy is pretty cute. He gave me his number, but I have a feeling he has a girlfriend because he kept saying, “We live here…we this…we that.” Maybe he was just trying to be nice since I’m new in town. Anyway, it was nice meeting someone randomly who’s sweet and has a cute dog.

Thoughts: Getting centered in my mind and body takes practice but I’m willing to try daily so that I don’t get squirrely in my head. It seems that exercise and writing are the two things that are working for me right now. Because I didn’t have a chance to exercise the past two days, I really noticed a difference in my mood. Although I seriously couldn’t move a muscle yesterday because of Tuesday’s physical activities, I went a little overboard.
