DAY 11: Shop My Closet 365 Days Challenge

Mood: Liberated

Weather: Hot & Humid

Outfit Purpose: Lunch with friends

Style Savvy: The first piece I pulled from my closet was this fringy cream skirt from H&M. I wanted to dress feminine and girlish while keeping in mind the summer weather. I opted to style blush tones with the skirt pulling together a silk chiffon Zara tank (worn here on Day 5) and my silk button up Equipment shirt. For a pop of color I paired my fuchsia Jimmy Choo pumps (worn here on Day 4).

Personal Style: In tune with my feminine girly side.

What’s Going On With Me: Got my hair done today by my fabulous hairstylist (my sister) and a few new projects for clients are starting up tomorrow. I’m also hosting a fashion blogger/style event at the Old Navy store in Fashion Valley Mall next Monday night 7/22 from 6:30-8:30pm. The store manager asked me if I’d like to do this and I said yes. If you’re in the area, come by and get styled by me with their newest pieces.

Thoughts: I met up with a friend last night to catch up, converse, blah, blah, blah. I asked him if he enjoys the work he’s doing. Is it what he really wants to do, is he passionate about it? He opened up about what he really envisions for himself and here’s what I have to say about that … I truly believe if you feel a strong drive, motivation and desire for something in life then go for it. Even if it feels uncomfortable, foreign, or isn’t making any money at first. Yes, it’s risky taking risks. I have done this a few times in my entrepreneurial life but it always pays off. Maybe not monetarily always, but one thing seems to connect with the next venture and eventually pays off financially.

I know for me, sometimes I can let people, places and things get in the way of doing what truly makes me happy. AND, what I envision for myself may change down the road or look different than I expected. Because I’m open to seeing how things develop – the journey and outcome usually end up being amazing and better than I thought. Even my divorce is a blessing in disguise. I probably would’ve never started this challenge, be open to living in a new city, meeting new people and having new experiences.
