DAY 66: Shop My Closet Hamptons Chic

Mood: Reflective

Weather: Sunny, cool breezes, perfection

Outfit Purpose: Exploring The Day

Style Savvy: I love me some animal print…especially anything in the cat family, meow. This outfit today reminds me of something I would wear at a Hamptons party. I know it’s not preppy or nautical enough for the East coast crowd but I think it’s my twist on Hamptons chic. I’ve had these Anlo wide legged jeans FOREVER! And YES you can wear white after Labor Day. No more rules on that one. So I bought these jeans at Fred Segal in Santa Monica I don’t know how many years ago and knew they were going to be an investment piece, that’s why I didn’t hesitate to drop $200 on them. I paired them with my H&M leopard shirt, classic Chanel sandals, vintage Cartier, Gucci & Anne Klein jewelry, vintage Gucci clutch, Chanel sunglasses and Saks Fifth Avenue Panama hat.

The pièce de résistance is my vintage inspired Timex watch. Classic at it’s best with an oversized face dial and basket weave leather strap. This timepiece will go with any outfit of the day! FYI, Timex has really stepped up their style game with their newest designs and super affordable check them out here.

Personal Style: Hamptons Chic

What’s Going On With Me: It’s tough being a woman especially during that week of vulnerability and emotional weakness. You know the “week” I’m speaking of. It’s not chic at all. When I was married I would warn my husband and ask him to leave me alone until I gave him the green light, otherwise he’d get the wrath of Linda Blair in the Exorcist. Not a vision for you. I know the feelings pass and then I’m back to my sense of normalcy. The process of getting through this nonsense is tormenting on my brain. Like today.

I had a lovely day with my mom, we checked out Del Mar Plaza and walked around, took pictures of my outfit for today and ate dinner. It was lovely and she said it felt like she was on vacation. Why couldn’t I feel this way? Instead my mind was racing with thoughts like “I can’t believe I live in San Diego WTF?!” “I miss my husband WTF?! Wait…no I don’t” “I need a vacation, maybe I should go on one” “What am I doing with my life?” This sort of thinking is the mad creation of PMS. Thank goodness I’m aware of what’s happening and know it’s just thoughts and not facts. I promise I will not blog about this again tomorrow, sorry!

Thoughts: This too shall pass. AND guess what? It really does. Just hang in there no matter what feelings you’re having because when you get through it, it’s all good. Capicé? Ho bisogno di practicare il mio Italiano.
