DAY 49: Shop My Closet Boho Chic

Mood: Fulfilled

Weather: Hot, hot, hot

Outfit Purpose: Summer Fun

Style Savvy: When buying a maxi dress for summer, try something sheer with risqué details like an open back and strappy. Most women ask, “How the heck do I wear these dresses?” It’s simple, invest in what stylists call an “underpinning” – it’s basically an undergarment/slip. Don’t worry if it doesn’t fully conform to the shape of your dress, for maxis it doesn’t matter. You don’t even have to fully match your undergarment to your dress as well. Just as long as the colors aren’t too contrast. I use The Shemie which comes in 3 different styles and 4 colors. I’m wearing the Romper aka “Paparazzi Protector” in nude with my maxi by Single Dress. I paired a Goorin Bros. floppy white hat, cat eye sunnies from a NYC street vendor and a mix of gold and silver jewelry.

Personal Style: Boho Chic

What’s Going On With Me: I’m full of love from friends, colleagues and family. My life is so full in every aspect, personally and professionally. I would’ve never thought I would feel this way in the short amount of time my world got turned upside down from my divorce and moving to San Diego from Santa Monica. The main reason is the support system I have in my relationships with all the amazing people in my life. I’m truly blessed. They carried me when I couldn’t move. They loved me when I couldn’t love myself. They motivated me when I was paralyzed. They let me cry and vent until I was done. To all of my loves in my life, you know who you are, thank you and I love you very much!

Thoughts: Never burn bridges with anyone. I know you’ve heard this a gazillion times but do you practice this principle with everyone? You just never know when you’ll need to call upon that certain someone you met way back or run into them in a present situation that may help or harm you depending on if you burned a bridge or not.

I’m not perfect, I had an incident a week ago with SD Guy and his friend, but I made amends right away. They seemed to have accepted my apology. At least my side of the street is clean so I can move forward and feel okay if I ever talk or run into him or his friend again.

  1. Maybe “SD Guy” doesn’t enjoy being reduced to a rip-off Carrie Bradshaw character like some one sided loser. Ya think?
