DAY 15: Shop My Closet 365 Days Challenge

Mood: Blue

Weather: Overcast, chilly, rained a bit

Outfit Purpose: Weekend brunch & wedding guest

Style Savvy: This year I’ve been obsessed with Ikat prints, ethnic and tribal patterns. This H&M dress almost didn’t make my closet because I thought it might be too conservative for my taste but the slits in the front sold it for me. Details like this can make or break a garment. I paired my Joe Fresh for JCP gold crocheted jacket and Enzo Angiolini heels (super obsessed with these) and tied this look together with an amber ombré jeweled statement necklace and chain fringed bracelet both from Banana Republic.

Personal Style: Boho Chic World Traveler

What’s Going On With Me: I never know when I’m going to get hit with the case of the cries. I had a dream last night that my ex-husband called and wanted to get back together. He was saying how sorry he was and that he now realizes how much he loves me. But in my dream I wasn’t overjoyed by his revelation and told him that I don’t have those feelings anymore. I woke up with a heavy heart and thought I could shake it off and carry on with my day. When I got to my sister’s house I seemed fine for the first hour but then it hit me. The case of the cries started rolling out of my eyes. It’s not that I want to resolve our relationship at this point, I just feel sadness for this loss in my life. It’s a strange feeling to go from speaking and seeing someone almost everyday for 9 years to no communication period so I’m still in mourning.

I thought focusing on this shop my closet challenge, blogging daily, meeting up with new friends, flirting and possible new relationship to blossom would erase my feelings surrounding my divorce but it hasn’t. It has helped tremendously but I guess I still have some healing and processing to do.

Thoughts: Be strong, you never know who you are inspiring. This quote is so true. Since I’ve been sharing my truth while blogging daily with this challenge, I’ve received many emails from women who have already been inspired in this two week period. Knowing I have people cheering me on, even the one’s I don’t know who are reading this, gives me inspiration and motivation to keep moving forward.
