It’s the start of summer which is the perfect time to switch up a few beauty and skincare products. Not everyone will have the same skin type as me, so I always like to preface my skin challenges first and what I’m looking for in beauty/cosmetics.
The most common question I get about skincare products I use, “Is this good for oily skin too?” From what many skincare specialists have advised, you need to moisturize oily skin as well. This helps balance out the oil. Most of the products I use can be used for oily skin unless I state it’s specifically for dry skin only.
My skin challenges: fine lines, dry skin, adult acne during PMS, pigmentation, uneven skin tone and dark circles under my eyes.
What I look for in beauty/cosmetics: makeup that covers yet lightweight, dewy finish, hydrates/moisturizes, has sun protection, gives a glow/shine, natural looking, exudes a fresh youthful look.

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow
This face oil contains two key ingredients to combat the summer sun, Vitamin C and Tumeric. These ingredients help boost your natural collagen and fade pigmentation. Frudia Citrus Brightening Cream
If you want mega porcelain like skin, this cream contains 61% tangerine citrus to do the job. It also contains mango seed oil and fruit seed oil adding moisture and helps to energize your skin. I’ve definitely noticed a difference using this daily for the past month. And for $20, it’s a no-brainer.
Neutrogena Hydroboost Body Balm
I’m obsessed with keeping my entire body silky smooth, especially during drier months. I had no idea Neutrogena’s Hydroboost range had this body balm until they sent it to me. This is a game changer. I love storing it in my fridge and using it for the days I sit out by the pool a little too long and need to cool myself down and moisturize at the same time. This is definitely a summer must have.
Aniise Collagen Mask with Hibiscus
I was sent this all natural skincare brand to test out. I haven’t heard of them before which is such a shame because I’m really loving their products. This mask is perfect for those days your face is feeling a bit saggy and blah. It dries lightly and after washing it off, my skin is firm and smooth.
I’ll put this mask on after cleansing my face and then I’ll do other things to pass the time since you want to leave it on for 10-20 minutes. I’ll brush my teeth, pull out my clothes I’m going to wear, check email, grab coffee. Depends on if I’m masking at night or in the morning the activities I do.
Aniise Ultra Rich Anti-Oxidant Body Cream
This luscious body cream is made with wild yam and shea butter. It smells heavenly and it makes my skin baby smooth. As you can tell, I’m obsessed with moisturizers and creams that are ultra hydrating. I love that for how creamy this is, it surprisingly goes on lightweight. It’s not greasy and doesn’t feel like you loaded up on body cream.
Aniise Illuminator
Anything to make my skin glow and shimmer I’m in! This highlighter aka illuminator can be worn directly on your skin or mixed with your foundation or moisturizer. It’s also buildable too, so if you want more glimmer and sheen, add more. This gives your summer tan that extra sun kissed glow. Now who doesn’t want that?
Glo Skin Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30+
During summer season I don’t always want to wear foundation so I opt for a tinted moisturizer instead. This is my Go-To tinted moisturizer because a little goes a long way and it protects my skin from harmful UV rays. It’s oil free and gives your skin a light dewy finish which I love for my dry skin. It comes in four shades, I use Medium since I’m on the tanner side.
NARS Liquid Blush in Orgasm
I’ve used NARS powdered blush in Orgasm forever. And I bought the nail polish and lipstick in this shade years ago when it came out. This light coral, pinky hue is perfection. I’ve been dying to buy the liquid blush and finally did. This blush does not disappoint! I could rave about it all day. It gives you the right amount of color and because it’s creamy, it doesn’t wear off or look powdery and unnatural. A little goes a long way so be careful when pumping it out.
