Elegant Maternity Photoshoot

My boyfriend decided to surprise me with a professional maternity photoshoot. It was such a fun and amazing experience! At this time, I’m 34 weeks pregnant which is the perfect time to do a maternity photoshoot before getting bigger and too exhausted.

Our maternity photographer, Oshey, has a very unique style, which we loved so much. A perfect match!

The first step, a Zoom call with us which helped her get to know who we are and my style preferences. She is super friendly, sweet and easy to work with.

We went over her portfolio to get an idea of the photo style we wanted to attain and dresses I want to wear. First, we picked the dresses and the fabrics, silhouettes, bodysuit, and lastly casual jeans and white shirt look.

For my boyfriend, she suggested he bring a pair of slacks and a button-up for the elegant and dressy attire, along with a pair of jeans and a white tee. They do have white button-ups which were great since he doesn’t own one.

Day of the shoot

On the day of my photoshoot, a HMU artist came to our home and did an amazing job with my hair and make-up. Such a treat! It took the stress off me to get ready and I love getting pampered.

We drove to our maternity photographer’s studio which was about 40 minutes from our place, well worth the drive. When we arrived she walked us directly to her studio and shortly after started snapping away, taking photos. Our photog also provided snacks and water which is a huge plus especially being pregnant.

The first look we shot was in a white pear-shaped, very elegant dress. We added wings to this dress which made me feel like Victoria’s Secret Model.

I love shooting in this simple black bodysuit which I added my own hat. I also wore my hat with a black dress for this shoot. The hat just felt more me.

Although this shoot was mainly about elegance, we had a few casual looks like a classic white shirt and jeans. I had so much fun trying on all the outfits that were provided by the photographer.

I was a little nervous going into the shoot thinking I would be awkward while posing for photos but she honestly made it so easy by positioning me, I didn’t feel nervous or awkward at all. I love how I was able to try so many different looks to have a variety of photos we can choose from.

My boyfriend and I took a few photos together as well. After our photog shot a photo of us, she let us view the picture in her camera. She made us feel and look like models.

Before we left the studio she said her assistant will schedule another Zoom call to look over all the photos and discuss package options. I can’t wait because we don’t have any professional photos together and these will make a nice addition to our new home.

About the Photographer

Oshey has one-of-a-kind styles. She incorporates fashion, art, and photography altogether. She is by far one of the most unique photographers I have ever seen. She makes you feel safe, welcome, and beautiful which is a huge plus. If you live in Dallas looking for a maternity photographer I highly recommended checking her website out and booking a session with her.

I had such a fun experience, in my opinion, you won’t be disappointed. She even does newborn photoshoots! Once the little one is here, we will book another shoot with Oshey.
