DAY 70: Shop My Closet SoCal Street Chic

Mood: Filled

Weather: Warm & Sunny

Outfit Purpose: Out & About

Style Savvy: Today’s outfit is another example of matching prints with prints but this time pairing an accessory with an article of clothing. Take my snakeskin printed clutch bag and sheer star studded top by SINGLE, these two patterns you might say, “No way would they go together.” But when you pair a gunmetal snake necklace (pulling in the gray on clutch) and black Christian Louboutin heels (pulling in black on clutch and top) then it makes sense. Also notice the lace detail on my sleeves. The lace ties in the black part of the snakeskin print on the clutch. And the staple piece that anchors all these elements is my J. Brand dark denim boyfriend jeans.

What’s Going On With Me: I’m loving all the comments from all of you! I read and respond to my comments here on my blog, YouTube channel and Instagram – which tend to be my most active social networks. Thank you all again! I’m blogging extremely late tonight because I went out with a newish girlfriend of mine in San Diego and two of her friends for Haute La Jolla Nights which featured live music, art events, shopping and dining deals throughout the Village. There were a lot of people walking around, enjoying the evening festivities, myself included. We also ate at Herringbone, the food super delish and decor really spectacular with large trees (real ones) scattered throughout the dining room. This night was definitely more my cup of tea.

Thoughts: Focus on the positives throughout the day and what you’re grateful for. I did that all day then got derailed when I came home and saw in my mail pile an envelope I am now receiving every month. This isn’t a pleasant reminder of what happened to my marriage. I teared up for a bit but then my mom said, “You just had such a wonderful day, don’t let that ruin it.” She was right. I immediately shifted my perspective and got grateful for the fantastic day I had and connecting with new women in town.
