Style Savvy: Weekend warrior outfits for play and other activities should consist of comfy pieces styled right for chic factor. You don’t have to “literally” look like you’re a hiker in the proper hiker garb, especially when you clearly aren’t going on a hike for workout purposes. And don’t resort to masculine or yoga wear, that’s just being lazy. It’s about still looking and feeling feminine (we are ladies) but getting out in nature, participating, getting some fresh air and then having a picnic perhaps? Or driving to the nearest cafe (wink). Today I opted for a loose denim pant by Bou Jeloud instead of my typical uniform … boyfriend jeans. I gotta switch it up sometimes.
Personal Style: Weekend Warrior
What’s Going On: I’m FREE!! I finally feel it in my core. I’m ecstatic to experience life on my own after my marriage. I get it now. I’m feeling so comfortable in my own skin again. I’m really okay on my own. I forgot what it was like because I was used to being married. This is fun time now. I know at some point I will want to find a partner in life again but I’m in no rush. I mean come on…I’ve been married twice. It’s not like I don’t know what marriage is like. I don’t really count my first marriage as a real marriage even though technically we were. I was in my 20’s and married a punk rock musician. I know. In Vegas too. So cliché.
Today was such an AMAZING day! Thanks to an awesome collaboration of creative artists – my friend/photographer Stephanie Sheveland and my sister Mei-Li hair/makeup artist. I’ve had a vision of styling a punk rock Barbie fashion editorial since the end of last year. Not only do I enjoy fashion styling, I love coming up with creative art direction for photo shoots. I can’t wait to share this editorial with all of you in a few days.
