What’s Going On: “It’s all happening” one of my favorite lines from the movie Almost Famous. That’s how I’ve been feeling recently. Why is it all happening? I’m saying “yes” instead of “no” and I’m taking contrary action when my brain is telling me to do the opposite. It’s all about getting out of my comfort zone. That’s what I did tonight. I ventured out with some newish friends, bar and club hopping in downtown San Diego. It’s not really my scene but I need to get out, meet people and experience new places. Then I met another friend on the way back home at a spot in Encinitas. I heard some of the greatest dialogue and lines tonight. I actually type them in my note pad app on my iPhone just in case I need good dialogue for future writing projects.
I’m glad I explored the weekend nightlife tonight but it reconfirms that I’m not at that point in my life where I find it fun and interesting anymore. I did the whole club and party scene starting at the age of 16 to about 33. A nice dinner and conversation with a small group of friends is more my speed. It’s okay. I don’t have to like everything.
