Style Savvy: Today’s sartorial is a mashup of Asian, Tribal, Classic and Punk elements. Yes, I know it was raining today, so I pre-planned my outfits ahead of time and photos. I have to actually pay attention to the weather forecast in order to keep this column up on a daily basis. Just in case you’re wondering why I’m not wearing rain boots, a rain coat and holding an umbrella. As you can see my outfit is pretty much all black but I play with different textures like my J. Crew tweed blazer with ribboned edges and my Sam Edelman spiked pumps. My top is so colorful and graphic, it deserved to be the center piece to my whole ensemble.
Personal Style: Career Chic
What’s Going On: I have been taking a hard look at myself this week, more so than ever since I started this challenge. I almost feel like I’m back to the first months all over again. In 3 more days it will be 8 months of this no shopping challenge. I’ve been in so much self-will and self-seeking for many months that it took some recent events to make things crystal clear. This chapter of my book is by far the hardest one I’m writing because I’m sharing all the deep rooted issues that aren’t shiny and pretty like a new piece of jewelry. What’s so amazing is that I have the choice to change, learn and grow and I want to. Just knowing this has eased my emotional pain and mental torment.
One of my styling jobs for a San Diego lifestyle magazine just hit the newsstands today and I’m dying at how amazing it turned out (VIEW HERE). The inspiration to the fashion editorial and my introspection is summed up in this quote, “I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night. Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning?
