DAY 21: Shop My Closet 365 Days Challenge

Mood: Relieved

Weather: Perfect

Outfit Purpose: Girls Night Out

Style Savvy: A girlfriend of mine gave me this Rag & Bone dress several years ago when I was helping her organize and clean out her wardrobe. For some reason I thought it didn’t fit me, that it was too tight but I slipped it on and voila, it fits! See I never know what I’ll discover shopping my closet. For a night out on the town to keep warm from the coastal breeze, I wore my Zara sequined jacket over the dress and Zara ankle booties to edge it up. I kept my accessories simple with a crystal spiked and studded necklace. (FYI, this dress is suppose to be crinkled but looks more wrinkled in these photos).

Personal Style: Glam Girl

What’s Going On With Me: I woke up feeling anxious. I think it’s because I was rushing into something, unconsciously, and realized I needed to slow it down. Thank goodness I wasn’t the only party privy to this feeling. I know I’m being a bit vague but that’s because I want to keep this on the DL (down low) for now.

Today I had a lot of work to catch up on that I’ve been putting aside and laundry too. Doing laundry sucks. When I was married I had our gay house guy do it for us which was nice. I think I have a distaste for doing laundry because my dad made it my chore when I was a kid and I had to do everyone’s laundry (mom, dad, sister and mine) at the end of every week. The whole shebang, wash, dry, fold, hang, put away. What an f-ing drag. I completely digressed and went on a laundry tangent. As I’m writing this I’m eating my favorite gelato of all time, Talenti banana chocolate swirl. It’s so delish. Okay, I digressed again. I have no clue what I’m saying today. It’s late, 11pm-ish and my brain is pretty fried.

Thoughts: Honesty feels more comfortable and easier to digest than anything other than … well, honesty. I’m at a place in my life that I can accept honesty even if it seems negative or hurtful, just as long as it wasn’t intended to be. It’s good to come from a place of truth so people know where you stand. I believe this to be the healthiest and easiest (yes easiest!) approach.
