Style Savvy: Summertime in winter, so I pulled out a few summer pieces and whipped my hair up in a ponytail. My peplum lace Intermix top still puts a smile on my face because of the poppy color. I mixed in a little Moroccan flair with my Old Navy scarf and gold lattice earrings. I paired my dark denim flared jeans with my Coach sandals to refine my laid back chic style. Notice my Savvynista Barbie doll? She was a Christmas gift. How stylish is she in her dark denim jeans and high heels? Never too old for Barbie!

What’s Going On: Because of the holidays and poor planning, I didn’t arrange to have my outfit photos taken outside, street style like I normally do for today’s blog post. This morning I was in Los Feliz then Culver City for lunch, a stop in Irvine, and stuck in traffic on and off while driving back to San Diego. By the time I got home, the sun already set. Hence the selfie shots in my office. I had to improvise and use my camera’s self-timer and tripod. I was having a slight melt down 20 minutes from pulling into my driveway. Beating myself up for not planning properly and stressing over how I was going to get my photos done.
I almost said “F-it” and pulled the plug on this challenge tonight. Or blogging about it at least. Just writing this column everyday is a challenge in itself, let alone the no shopping portion. I also feel like I have no family support right now which isn’t true but I feel alone. Feeling alone triggers the abandonment I felt when my ex-husband wanted to end our marriage. Then comes the spiraling downward of all my insecurities. I know this isn’t my truth or reality, it’s made up stories in my head to self-sabotage. So, I keep putting one foot in front of the other, even if I take a step back once in awhile. It’s okay.
