DAY 110: Shop My Closet Modern Vintage

Mood: Stressed

Weather: Partly Sunny, Partly Overcast

Outfit Purpose: Stylist at Work / Running around Southern Cali

Style Savvy: Today I needed to be comfortable and mobile in my outfit. Nothing constricting, hence the wide legged denim jeans (also worn HERE) and DVF (Diane Von Furstenberg) wrap around sheer top that originally came with the silk cami underneath I wear with so many other things (fyi: I’ve owned this top for about 8 yrs). I needed a punch of color so I slipped on my fuchsia Jimmy Choo pumps (also worn HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE) and on my lips Bobbi Brown matte lipstick in Razzberry since I didn’t really have much makeup on, a red or berry lipstick usually helps. My hair seriously needs a washing so a messy tied up bun is my alternative for days like today.

Personal Style: Modern Vintage

What’s Going On: OMG! I was stuck on the freeway leaving LA to SD for about 4 hours earlier today. There was a crazy accident in Dana Point on the 5 freeway, I literally had no alternative route to take from there to Carlsbad. Talk about a stressful drive not to mention my morning started out with my Starbucks coffee spilling all over the white button up shirt I had on originally due to the lid not being fastened properly. I somehow managed not to become a rageaholic during my drive, cursing and honking at people. How I avoided that is a mystery. Maybe I’ve been practicing patience and tolerance more. Who knows.

I also think it helped that I had a chance to catch up on some phone calls with a few friends I hadn’t spoken to in awhile. Yes, I’m handsfree. One girlfriend in particular, I adore and love,  she’s been with me through some pretty tough times in the past. She’s also had some major challenges lately. Since I’ve used my divorce as an inspiration and motivation to get myself back to who I am and what I want to do with my life, I was able to give my girlfriend some hope and inspiration. I could tell in her voice towards the end of our conversation, she sounded happier and uplifted. That made my day.
