Wednesday 4 Way | Floral Print, Polka Dots & Stripes

I’ve always felt more like Meryl’s character in The Devil Wears Prada over Anne Hathaway’s character. Maybe because I’m a seasoned entrepreneur and have owned several businesses over the course of my adulthood. Meaning, I’ve been around the block several thousand times, developed a great poker face and know who’s trying to pull a fast one on me.
When the movie The Devil Wears Prada came out, I owned a boutique PR & Marketing agency which serviced hospitality, beauty and lifestyle clients. My right hand associate/VP of my company loved to quote lines from movies and many at the time were from The Devil Wears Prada. One line that came to mind as I made a recent purchase was, “Florals for spring…groundbreaking.” The way Meryl says this in the movie with her eye roll is hilarious.

Lately, I’ve been fueling the economy by being a really good consumer, hello SALE time! One of my many recent purchases included a floral print, ankle length, fitted pant from Zara. I find that floral prints are still on trend especially for SoCal gals like myself. Being the Savvynista that I am, here’s how I styled my flowery bottoms four different ways at the tail end of my week into the weekend.

Work day outfit

Add interest with an unexpected colored belt like neon.

Chilly work space or chilly in general? Throw on a polka dotted sweater in muted colors so that your floral pants remain the focal piece.

Don’t be afraid of costume jewelry! Spark up your outfit with a statement necklace.

A heel with textured material in the same color palette is a stylish approach.

For a casual look, pair floral pants with a striped hoodie staying within the same color family and metallic studded sandals.

For weekend excursions when the weather is bipolar – cloudy, breezy one hour, sunny and warm the next, layer a thin t-shirt (I chose neon…I’m just loving neon again) and a lightweight sweatshirt with a fun graphic. This way you can take off the sweatshirt and throw it in your bag or around your waist when it starts to warm up.

Wearing | Zara floral pant | H&M bow-tie top | H&M neon braided belt | Phillip Lim 3.1 heels | The Lady & The Sailor striped hoodie | VC Signature rose gold studded sandals | Koch octopus sweatshirt | Monrow classics neon t-shirt | Banana Republic statement necklace | Essie French Affair toenail polish

P.S. Thanks for not complaining about the recurring iPhone appearance in my style photos. I haven’t had a chance to get someone to take my snaps lately.
